What is Flashback Ranch?

What is Flashback Ranch?  Two 40-acre fenced and gated parcels. The north parcel contains a 2400 square foot, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 loft open floor plan home.  Underground electric and 350’ well with 8” casing and dual pressure tanks serve as utilities.

Adjacent to the residence is a four stall barn, 3 exterior corrals, with an upstairs apartment with deck and a downstairs apartment with patio.

Next to the barn is an 1800 square foot insulated & heated garage/recreation center with 14’ roll up door with remote. The garage is large enough to house a 40 foot recreational vehicle.

The adjoining 40 acre parcel is suitable for agricultural use (horses, cows, or crops including grapes), however, is zoned RU4 and can be subdivided into individual 4 acre parcels.

Climate/Topography: An elevation of nearly 4,500-foot blesses Flashback Ranch with a climate which has mild winters and mild summers with level terrain surrounded by spectacular mountain views. A desert landscape covers the rolling hills, providing habitat for diverse species of wildlife, including rare birds. Every spring the sand hill cranes fly directly over Flashback Ranch on their way to the playa in Willcox. Birdwatchers from around the world come to Cochise County to observe the myriad species of birds.

LOCATION: Cochise County is located in the southeast corner of the state of Arizona. It is bordered by Mexico on the south and New Mexico on the east. The climate is semi-arid with warm summers and moderate winters. Precipitation is low except during the period between July and September when the monsoons arrive.

Cochise County History: Cochise County was created in February 1881 from a portion of Pima County. The county was named for the famous Apache chief, Cochise, who, with a band of Chiricahua Apaches,  made his stronghold on the Dragoon range of mountains.and roamed the land that is now the Chiricahua National Monument. The Apaches called it the “land of the standing up rocks.”  Upon Cochise’s death, he was secretly buried in the Dragoon Mountains. The exact location was never revealed. The Cochise Stronghold, now part of the Coronado National where Cochise and more than 200 of his men hid out, is an awe-inspiring series of boulder-filled canyons where hikers, rock climbers, and visitors from around the world come each year.

In 1881, the now famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral took place in Tombstone. The gunfight was between Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, Virgil and Morgan Earp against the Clantons and McLaurys. Tombstone’s Old West history is still evident, with wooden sidewalks, horse-drawn stagecoaches and daily gunfights. Big Nose Kate’s and the Crystal Palace are two of the original saloons from the 1800’s which are still serving customers.
